PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: The following was observed during the inspection:
-A TV on a rolling cart was not anchored. This was not completed on the date specified on the routine inspection. This is a repeat contravention. The TV was in the office but in discussion with the Manager she moves this into the classroom on occassion. Please provide active supervision when the TV is in use until this is completed.
-Several electrical outlet covers were missing. This was not completed on the date specified on the routine inspection. This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times the children are in care

STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: The Staff qualifications list was observed. A criminal record check (CRC) for the Manager was not observed on the list. In discussion the Manager communicated the expiry date for her CRC

STAFFING: 12050 - CCLR s.19(1)(b) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation: The staff qualifications list was reviewed during the inspection. The Manager's references were not observed on the list. This is a repeat contravention.

STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: Immunization status was not obtained for one employee/ Manager.
