Introduction

All areas of the community care facility (CCF) were inspected for compliance during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/ the:
• Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA)
• Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR)
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP)

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: There was no evidence of documentation of inspections (daily, monthly, & annual), maintenance, & repairs pertaining to the outdoor play space.
Corrective Action(s): This is a requirement of the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice (Safe Play Space): Maintenance of Equipment.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19030 - CCLR s.55(2)(a) - A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A reportable incident occured on 09/Apr/2019 in which medical attention was sought.
Corrective Action(s): The incident was reported to FHA today. The manager completed a reportable incident form for this incident.
