Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation: During the inspection it was observed that the water temperature in the bathroom measured 54.6 degrees Celsius. This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the water temperature does not measure over 49 degrees Celsius.
Date to be Corrected: Immediately

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation: During the inspection three random files were reviewed and it was noted that 2 were missing an enrollment date.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all children's files are completed.

Comments

At the inspection dated January 27, 2022 there were 2 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified . Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

· Active Supervision
· Lead in the Water
