Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14030 - CCLR s.34(2)(b) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: Licensing reviewed child care certification and one staff on site had ECE and a second had ECEA however no staff with ECE/IT was on site. Staff stated that the manager was away on vacation and she is the second staff in the program as she has her ECE/IT
Corrective Action(s): please ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

Comments

At the inspection on July 6th, 2023 there were 6 children and 2 staff present.
At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified.

As part of this Routine inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed off site and a copy will be provided.
