Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.
At today’s inspection there were 11 children and 2 staff present.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: Licensing observed two roller blinds in use that are heavily peeling; flakes were observed on the floor. This is a recurring contravention.
Corrective Action(s): The staff explained that there is a plan to replace the blinds.

During this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. As part of this Routine inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The information contained in the report was discussed with the staff. Licensing emailed a copy of the report and the risk assessment to the facility.
