209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1. Small bags of lettuce were stored near the hand washing station, underneath the liquid soap dispenser.
2. A bulk food scoop was stored improperly. Scoop handle was in direct contact with the bulk food.
3. Serving utensils (tongs, rice scoops, etc.) were stored in ice water but the amount of ice water was too little. The food contact portion of the utensils was only partially submerged the in the ice water.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Move the bags of lettuce away from the liquid soap dispenser. Ensure food is not stored near the hand washing station to avoid potential contamination.
2. Store the bulk food scoop in the dedicated scoop holder.
3. Ensure there is enough ice water for the food contact portion of the utensils to be fully submerged.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Frozen chicken was being thawed in non-running cold water.
