Comments

The Manager was not present for today's inspection. Please ensure the Manager receives a copy of today's inspection report.

The following information was shared with the staff during the inspection:
Supervision - the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice Safe Play Spaces and Active Play speaks to supervision of children both indoors and outdoors. Staff must be practicing active supervision at all times, a combination of close proximity and attention, watching, and listening. Staff must be able to move through and see the entire play space. Staff must know, at all times, how many children are in their care.
Lead in Drinking Water - the writer provided the staff with a handout regarding lead in drinking water. Child care staff can help reduce the amount of lead in drinking water by flushing the pipes, let the cold water tap run for one to five minutes - or until the water turns colder.
Reportable Incidents - Schedule H of the Child Care Licensing Regulationoutlines what incidents are reportable to licensing. If a child is involved in a reportable incident the child care staff are required to report the matter to licensing within 24 hours. Please call the writer to report any incidents and if the writer is unavailable please call the Regional Duty Line at (604) 587-3936 and ask to speak with a Licensing Officer.

The staff and children were outside playing in the garden area during today's inspection. The writer would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their time and assistance with today's inspection. There were no violations identified during today's inspection which makes it four years in a row with no violations. The writer would like to acknowledge the hard work done by both staff and the Licensee in maintaining full compliance with the legislation.
