Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted. All newly licensed facilities in Fraser Health receive one routine and one follow up-inspection to ensure they are maintaining compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated April 20, 2023 there were five children and the Manager present. Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility. There were no contraventions identified during this inspection.
The following was discussed with the Manager:
Photographs of children are stored on a cell phone. It is recommended that hard copies of photos are available in case the cell phone does not work.
Sleeping equipment used for children must meet manufacturer’s guidelines.
Maintaining children's files
Storage of ladder in the outdoor play space in a manner that it is inaccessible to children
Emergency supplies to be regularly replenished and checked for expiration dates to ensure it is sufficient to children enrolled in care
Contents of First aid kit
Door leading to the garage must be secured at all times
Annual servicing of the fire extinguisher
It is the responsibility of the Manager to ensure the facility is in compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and the Child Care Licensing Regulation at all times.
