Introduction

An unscheduled/scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility. Observation: During the routine inspection 11 children's files were reviewed and two children's files were missing a date of enrollment. Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children's files are complete. Date to be Corrected: December 15, 2023

Comments

At the inspection dated November 29, 2023 there were 19 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The following education/recommendations were provided: · Two children had a care plan on site. The plans have been created last year but a date has not been observed on the plans. Licensing recommends that a date when the plan was created is put on the care plan. A discussion was had regarding the plans being reviewed annually.
