Introduction

An unscheduled follow up to routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

During today’s inspection, there were 8 children, and the licensee present. COVID-19 Pre-screening was completed at the door.

At this inspection items identified in the inspection dated February 2, 2022 were reviewed and corrected:
Items stored in the hallway were moved, and furthermore the love seat was pushed further into the main classroom to provide access.
facility nap room was clear of storage, and was available for children to nap if needed.
bathroom was clear of unnecessary items and storage.
Water temperature was below 49 degrees Celsius.
Emergency evacuation supplies were reviewed. Licensee had sufficient food, water and supplies to sustain staff and children for 72 hours.
Licensing reviewed facility policies, some were still under review by licensee at the time of inspection.
Licensee had created a log book which contained daily entries.
Licensee created an outdoor playground assessment log.
Licensee had completed a written repayment agreement and had placed them in children's files.
Date of enrolment had been entered into children's files.

The following was discussed:
Review of a plan to repair or replace tables located in the main program space
Review of policies. Some policies stated another facility name. Licensee stated she is adapting her policies based on the polices presented at the time of inspection. Licensee will submit fully adapted policies to licensing for review once complete.
Discussed an emergency evacuation plan to be conducted yearly in addition to the monthly fire drills.
