Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance with the exception of:

Care and supervision
Hygiene and communicable disease control

These areas were reviewed upon Licensing's return to the facility on May 9, 2019.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection

At the inspection conducted on May 8, 2019 there were no children in care. Licensing returned on May 9, 2019 to observe care and supervision and hygiene and communicable disease control. Present were the licensee and 3 children.

No contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following was discussed:
Promoting Active Play in the program
Active Supervision
Lead in the Water
Consent for applying creams that have medical components
Care plans if it was identified that a child requires additional support due to a medical condition
How to identify on the registration forms if information is not available
How to keep record of children's absences
