Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11080 - CCLR s.15(1)(a) - A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.
Observation: A tall shelf was observed not anchored to the wall.
Corrective Action(s): Please address.

CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Attendance was reviewed and 5 children under the age of 4 years old were found to be in attendance on some days. Licensee stated current attendance schedule is in compliance.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the ages of children in care are in compliance with Schedule E

Comments

At the inspection dated September 17, 2019 there were 1 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.
