Report of Findings
Community Care Facilities Licensing (CCFL) received a complaint on September 29, 2022. The complainant provided the following concerns:
- The Licensee did not take measures to reduce risks associated with renovations.
- Poor quality food and storage
- Inadequate hygiene supplies
- Insufficient funds for PICs activities

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was received and reviewed through staff interviews, communications with facility management, and a review of documentation.

Licensing determined this contravention:
Residential Care Regulation- Section 8(2) (ii) - A licensee must not make any structural change to community care facility unless the licensee first submits to a medical health officer a description of how the licensee intends to ensure the health and safety of persons in care while the change is being made.
Substantiated Contraventions: Evidence for this summary report is based on a combination of the Licensing Officer’s observations, a review of facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the investigation.

Observation: Two renovations done in the facility (May 30 and August 9, 2022) without health and safety plan of the persons in care submitted and accepted by Licensing.
