Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Sanitizer LT (5.25% sodium hypochlorite) bottle was present on-site. Staff member followed the mixing directions on the label of this bottle however concentration measured was not at 100 ppm chlorine.
Corrective Action(s): Staff obtained a household bleach bottle from a retail store nearby and setup 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer (1/2 teaspoon bleach per L of water) to re-santiize the faucets through which water is dispensed. Please obtain chlorine test strips to check that 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer is available. If you would like to switch to another sanitizer in the future, please provide the district Environmental Health Officer the specification sheet on the name, type, concentration, and use for the sanitizer for review. In the meanwhile, continue using the 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer to santiize the faucets.

Comments

-Two operations are done on-site where customers refill their own bottles and are provided with new caps and where there is an exchange program where the Operator cleans and sanitizes and air dries the jugs prior to providing them to customers.
-Handsink near the back room and inside the washroom were supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and paper towels.
-100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available in the ware-washing equipment through which the jugs are sanitized.
-No signs of recent pest activity were present at the time of inspection.
-Ice machine was in a clean condition and scoop was stored separately in a clean container.
-Freezer temperature (containing packaged ice) was satisfactory.
