Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Observed a scissor (for cutting grass) stored in a cup of water (20C). Going forward, ensure that in use utensils are stored in a container of ice or an empty clean container.

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): (REPEAT VIOLATION) The hand washing station was obstructed at this time. Observed a staff filling out a pail of carrots with water using the hand washing sink, and the pail full of water stayed in the hand washing sink basin. As a result, the same staff was washing hands with a large pail of water occupying the basin. The pail was removed at this time.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Observed a metal scoop in a mango pail where a handle part of the scoop was touching the food directly. Going forward, ensure that scoops are stored outside of the food or in a way where handles are not touching the foods directly.

307 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not of suitable design/material [s. 16; s. 19]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Observed spongy non-slip lining materials that were lining the shelves above the 3 compartment sink which stores cleaned and sanitized blender jars. The lining materials was water logged from water dripping from blender jars. The shelves above the 3 compartment sink was slightly slopped. Without these non-slip linings, jars would fall down.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and sanitize the non-slip linings every 4 hours as per your manual dishwashing protocol. The lining materials must be removed permanently when the shelves are no longer slopped. Correct this by: Jan 21, 2022.

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation: Observed an ice machine in the additional storage area where each end of the door rails were held by large paper clips. As a result, the ice machine door had a permanent small opening (approximately 5cm gap) facing upward. The manager cited that without the clips, the door will just fall out of the rails and the clips were preventing from it. There was no drop ceiling right above the ice machine either. Paper clips were removed at this time and the door was fully shut at this time.
Corrective Action(s): Ice machine door is to be serviced. The door must be closed when not in use to prevent contamination. Correct this by: Jan 21, 2022

Routine inspection conducted:
The hand washing station is fully equipped with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towels.
Coolers measured at 4C or less.
Freezers measured at -18C or less.
General food storage practice is adequate.
QUATS sanitizer measured at 200 ppm as per test strips. Test strips available.
3 compartment sink with drain plugs in use.
Routine pest control in place. No sign of recent pest activity noted at this time.

Signature was not collected due to COVID 19.
