Observation: Rear delivery bay area used for storage of items belonging to National Meats
Corrective Action(s): As noted by the property manager representing the property owner, the rear delivery bay area is a common space and is no longer intended for the sole use of National Meats or for the storage of items belonging to this business. At time of inspection a table with items for staff use, delivery carts and dollies, and a coat and bag rack were present indicating the space is being occupied by National Meats. All of the items belonging to National Meats shall be removed from the rear delivery bay area as it is no longer part of the meat shop. Also, the rear delivery bay area shall not be used to store items belonging to National Meats.

Observation: Numerous flies were observed hovering around used, empty meat boxes that were stacked next to the dumpster.
Corrective Action(s): Dirty boxes that were used to store meat shall be disposed of properly to prevent attracting pests.

Observation: Used, empty meat boxes stacked up beside dumpster and along exterior wall; unknown putrid liquid on the ground underneath the dumpster.
Corrective Action(s): The rear exterior of the business shall be kept clean and tidy. Empty boxes shall be disposed of in the dumpster promptly after use. The ground shall be rinsed with clean water to remove filth and/or spilled liquids.

Comments

Attempted to conduct a routine inspection but the business was closed however back door was open and 3 staff persons were working.
Staff spoke very little English but were told to clean up the back area around the dumpster.

A Public Health Act Correction Order will be issued if items belonging to National Meats are not removed from the rear delivery bay area by the due date noted above.
