Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: Upon inspection and review of the children's files the following was observed:
- one child who required a care plan was in the observation stages and manager was working on creating the care plan. The manager was waiting to hear from the parent regarding future testing of the child in care.
- three children who required a care plan had a care plan on site but the care plans have not yet been signed by the parent. Manager said that she has forgotten to ask the parents to sign the care plan. Manager said that the care plan has been discussed previously with the parents and have been created in consultation with the parent but they have not been signed.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the parent has signed the care plans.

Comments

At the inspection dated January 15, 2024 there were 9 children, 1 staff and the manager present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
- A conversation was had with the manager regarding children on site who are not immunized.
