Employee does not wash hands properly or at adequate frequency [s. 21(3)]
Observation: Employee seen wearing gloves in kitchen, putting dishwashing gloves overtop, removing them, went back into kitchen, touched clean dishes and preparing food. No handwashing step observed. Discussed with staff to remove gloves and wash hands, new gloves should be used (wearing gloves is not a requirement for food handling). Note: wearing gloves is not a replacement of handwashing. Conditions under dishwashing gloves may be uncleaned.
Correction: As mentioned in previous report, improper food handling practices was a repeated violation. All staff in kitchen should have take the Food Safe Level 1 course.

Observation: *Ongoing 402 violation noted - discussed hand washing and glove use policy with staff. Staff indicate gloves are change every half day. Food handler with single use disposable gloves noted preping food then washing the counters, then handling their phone. Staff person explained hand washing while wearing gloves. This is not acceptable hand washing

Follow-up inspection to report #246244
Reviewed handwashing & glove use policies with manager - new policy is posted at the front serving area and back kitchen for staff. Hard copy provided to EHO during inspection.
Staff were able to demonstrate proper handwashing technique during inspection and explained when gloves are used and when they are discarded.
Manager was reminded to monitor staff and ensure the policy is being followed at all times during operation
