Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection of the physical facility, a computer charging cord was observed being plugged in one of the electrical outlets causing a tripping hazard.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 16, 2021 there were 2 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Emergency supplies for all children in the facility.
· Photograph of the children (either digital or paper photo).
· Policies of the facility to be made available to parents.
· Active Supervision.
· Fire drill to be performed and posted monthly.
· Emergency earthquake drill to be practiced at least once a year.
· Attendance to be recorded daily and kept available.
· Transportation policy.
