Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection there were cleaners in 3 locations that were accessible to children. The Licensee advised she is going to install a shelf to have the supplies out of children's reach.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Comments

At the inspection dated October 19, 2023 there were 5 children and the licensee present. At this inspection the above contravention was identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. This report was discussed with the Manager and a copy provided.
