Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #KINE-C3VUEF have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation: Several children have information provided in their registration file indicating a need for a care plan. Staff had met and spoken to parents about the children's needs and have the necessary medication in place, but there was no care plan that included the course of action recommended by a health care professional on site.
Corrective Action(s): Develop a care plan that addresses the course of action recommended by health care professionals for all children who require it who are in care.

Comments

During this inspection, there were 18 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The Licensing Officer met with the manager and discussed the following:
- First Aid Supplies
- Care Plans (resources provided via email)

This report was written off site; therefore, no signatures were captured at this time. Contravention was reviewed with the facility manager and a copy of this document will be provided to the facility via email.
