315 - Refrigeration units and hot holding equipment lack accurate thermometers [s. 19(2)]
Observation: Refrigeration thermometer in the domestic cooler next to the stove-top was inaccurate.
Corrective Action(s): Replace the thermometer in the domestic cooler next to the stove-top with an accurate thermometer. Manager informed they would place an order for a new thermometer this week. In the interim, use the thermometer in the second domestic cooler or the digital probe thermometer to monitor its' ambient refrigeration temperature.

Comments

Handsink was supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
Both domestic coolers were at or below 4 degrees C (measured at 1.7 and 4 degrees C).
Freezer components of domestic coolers were at or below -18 degrees C.
Probe thermometer was in good working order.
Minimal food cooking internal temperature to at least 74 degrees C was reviewed.
100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available in the labelled spray bottle.
Sani cycle is used for the residential dishwasher according to the Manager.
No signs of pest activity were evident at the time of inspection.
Food storage areas appeared clean and organized.
Manager with valid FOODSAFE Level 1 refresher course training (expiration date: August 23, 2023) was present on shift. Reminder: Ensure to renew your FOODSAFE Level 1 course training prior to the expiration date. Refer to www.FOODSAFE.ca for information on the FOODSAFE Level 1 refresher course.
