Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Noted a hose connected to the two compartment sink tap. Staff member was instructed to remove hose at time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the two compartment sink is able to facilitate hand washing at all times as it is the only sink in food handling area.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Back door was open at time of inspection and screen was pulled aside. No deliveries were being received during the duration of the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure screen is utilized and placed over open back door at all times during operation.

Comments

- Premises is a grocery store that sells prepackaged foods and whole fruits and vegetables. Premises only trims and cleans up produce but does not sell them cut.
- Hand wash station in staff washroom had soap, paper towel, hot and cold running water.
- Soap, paper towel, hot and cold running water available at two compartment sink. See violation code 401 re: hose.
- Bleach on site with test strips available to verify sanitizer concentration. Two drain plugs available.
- Reviewed manual warewashing procedures at time of inspection. Ensure cutting boards and knives are washed with soap and water, rinsed with clean water, sanitized for two minutes in 100ppm chlorine sanitizer solution then air dried.
- Freezers all less than -18C
- Upright reach in cooler units all 4C or less (only units with perishable foods ie. dairy in them)
- Open face produce coolers 10C to 12C (only whole produce and bean sprouts stored in the unit).
- Bean sprouts 4C stored on two large ice packs (still frozen). Staff member said they rotate the ice packs every 1- 3 hours or as needed depending on the weather (ie. more often on warmer summer days, less often during the colder winter days..etc)
- No obvious signs of pest activity noted at time of inspection. See violation code 305 re: back door
