Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): *REPEATED VIOLATION*
2 onion bags and two boxes of food cans were stored on the floor. Storing food directly on the floor could potentially cause food contamination.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the food products are stored at least 6" off the floor. Operator removed the food products from floor and stored them on shelves at the time of inspection.

Observation: A sugarcane machine was stored in the back area. Operator stated that the machine is broken and is not being used during facility operation.
Corrective Action(s): Any equipment that is not intended for facility operation must be removed off site. TO BE CORRECTED BY - Immediately
As discussed earlier, the store does not have Health approval to conduct food processing on site. If you wish to use the machine in future, please contact your district EHO to obtain Health approval.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted at the food facility and the following observations were made during the inspection:

Temperature (coolers to be at 4C or less, freezers at -18C or less):
- Walk-in cooler noted at 3C
- Walk-in freezer at -19C
- Stand-up cooler at -2C
- Stand-up freezers at -12C & -10C
- Ice cream freezer at -16C

Storage:
- All products were found either in original packaging or covered inside coolers.
- Storage and produce areas were well-organized.
- Chemicals and cleaners were stored separate from food storage area.

Facility Maintenance:
- General sanitation of facility was satisfactory.
- 2 compartment sink in back area maintained in good sanitary condition.
- No visible signs of pest activity observed at the time of inspection.
- Professional pest control company conducts routine checks.
- Mechanical traps were present throughout the facility.

COVID-19:
- All staff and customers were observed wearing face mask. However, the operator was noted without face mask during inspection.
Follow proper COVID-19 control measures and comply with Provincial Health Officer's Order.
