Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #JBES-B8VP74 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: Audit of school age file information revealed some children's Date of Birth, and gender indication is missing.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all required documentation is obtained and maintained at all times.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Audit of children's information forms for many school aged children revealed missing Medical Practitioner name and phone number.
Corrective Action(s): Program is aware that a walk in clinic name and phone number can be used when a family does not have a medical practitioner as this information was contained on other forms

Comments

At the inspection dated December 4, 2019 there were 55 children and 7 staff present.
No coded violations were noted during today's inspection; no written response is requested at this time.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· Temporary Placement
· Lead in the Water
