208 - Foods obtained from unapproved sources [s. 11] Observation: - Multiple bags of spiced dried fruit & sweets labelled "SWEET AND SPICY MEXICAN CANDY - Picositos" found in store missing proper label. Products are labelled inconsistentally and many of them are missing supplier's contact info and ingredients. All of them do not have production date nor best before date. Operator provided handwritten invoice with no address. Corrective Action(s): - Business name, address and contact info of the supplier to be provided to the inspector. Total of 155 bags were moved to the back inventory area. Correction order issue to hold these items until the supplier is verified as an approved source. Violation Score: 9

Store sells Latin American (imported) food products as well as locally supplied items. No repackaging/ reprocessing is done on site. - All coolers at 4C or below - All freezers ranged from -14C to -26C (extra chest freezer added at the back for ice popsicle) - Overall sanitation is good. No signs of pest activity noted at the time of inspection. - Monthly contract with Pest Detective Burnaby Pest Control Service - recent report from June 16, 2022 indicates no notable activity. - Inventory & organization maintained. - Washroom handsink is fully equipped. - "Simple Green" - QUAT based disinfectant available for sanitizing.
