Introduction

An unscheduled focused inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP) All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed toys and food on the floor indoors, gardening tools such as shovels and rake outdoors.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that a safe environment is provided at all times while children are at the facility.

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated June 20, 2022 there were 3 children and the licensee present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.

The following was discussed or education provided:
Criminal record check for the exchange student who is going to be coming to stay with licensee in end of August.
Having a system in place to put the toys away once children have finished playing with them to avoid tripping hazards.
