Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: Upon review of the attendance sheet for January, 9 children did not have a departure time recorded.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure arrival and departure times are documented.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated January 21, 2020 there were 5 children and 1 staff present. Licensee stated that there are 7 children registered in the program. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee will provide Licensing with a written response. Licensing will review the response.As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· Active Supervision
· Lead in the Water

The following resources were provided:
· Reportable Incident Bulletin
· Universal precautions
