Introduction

An unscheduled Routine Inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Five children's record's were reviewed and one was missing the start date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children's records are showing the date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
The COVID-19 Pre-screening was conducted at the door.
During today’s inspection, there were 7 children, and the facility manger present.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.

The following was discussed:
Developing a system to ensure daily, monthly, and yearly outdoor playground checks are done.
Ensuring any items in the first-aid kit with a DIN number must have written permission from parents to use on children, or placed out of use.
Ensuring the Manager's name posted near the the License is visible.
Licensee stated the city has sent more information for the rezoning, and will be moving forward with the application process shortly.
