Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the licensing officer’s observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:
· Licensing
· Physical Facility
· Staffing
· Policies and Procedures
· Care and Supervision
· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services
· Program
· Records and Reporting

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection, and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance operation.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #ABEY-9WAU78 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

During today’s inspection the manager was on site, within 10 minutes 2 staff arrived from school pickup with 14 children.

The following was observed and/or discussed at time of this inspection with the Manager:
-6/24 children's files were reviewed
-Staff have valid 1st aid certificates and credentials posted
-The manager stated that the emergency kit has just been updated recently
-Licensing observed the newly implemented attendance records, indicating both arrival and departure times for school drop off and pick up
