Code 217 noted on Routine inspection # JELR-CX7R3M of Nov-02-2023 Biomedical waste and/or sharps not disposed of in an adequate manner Observation: Credo/pedicure blades are single use and discarded into a glass jar with lid. There is no sharps container. Correction: Provide a proper sharps container for safe and permanent disposal of sharps/blades.

Follow up inspection: Nail services and waxing checklists provided to manager. ****Update your infection control plan as discussed. Services: nails (manicure, pedicure, foot bath, artificial nails). - High level disinfectant on site and used for semi critical items (nippers, pushers, etc.) Use as directed on the label. - Metal foot callus rasp no longer being used. Using disposable callus remover blocks. - Sharps container is now used to discard sharp items (pedicure blades). - Foot bath with disposable liner is also being disinfected between clients - good. - Waxing room cleaned. Manager to apply for Fraser Health approval before offering any additional services. This report to be emailed to Manager.
