Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
The following areas were reviewed:

· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services

· Records and Reporting
As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR # have been corrected except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: 7 children's registration files were reviewed. One child's medical insurance plan number was missing.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure you have obtained all children's medical insurance plan number.

Comments

I provided information and requirements about the Active play and Screen time policies. Please develop and implement. If you have any questions, please contact myself and I am happy to assist you. You may also refer to the emails that I have forwarded to you.

A child's emergency consent card was missing. You stated that this child is new to the program and the parents was provided the consent card to complete. However, they have not returned the card to you. You agreed to follow up with this family.

Please continue to practice fire drills at least once a month and emergency drills at least once a year and record them for evidence of compliance.

I observed children were playing with friends and games and engaged in activities.

Please send me an emails by Aug 31 on how you have addressed the above noted contravention and concern i.e. to obtain a child's medical plan number and a child's emergency consent card.
