Introduction

An unannounced routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulation and the applicable Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance except for the facility's policies and procedures as these have not changed since the last routine inspection.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: In the group child care (30 months to school age) room there is a lower cupboard with a sink. The cupboards were wrapped in a material that is now beginning to show signs of wear and tear and is no longer cleanable. The cupboard located directly below the sink has a gap between the doors.

Corrective Action(s): Ensure the cupboards are in good repair and are easily cleanable (non porous). The Licensee will need to submit to the Licensing Officer an action plan by December 9, 2019. This plan should include a time line as to when the work will be completed. The completion date may be later than December 9, 2019 as licensing acknowledges other agencies will be involved in having this matter addressed.

Date to be Corrected: 09 December 2019
