Observation: Musty odour was observed in the walk-in cooler with signs of mould (black spots) on the wall around the cooling fan area.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that premises is maintained in sanitary condition. Remove the mould and disinfect the area with 1 part bleach to 9 part water solution. Check for any sign of water leakage or humidity that could cause musty smell in the cooler. Regular monitoring is required to prevent similar issues in future.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted at the food store and the following observations were made:

Temperature:
- Walk-in cooler noted at a temperature of ~7C.
- Ice cream freezer at -30C.
- Pop coolers maintained at 4C or less.

Hygiene and Sanitizing:
- Hand wash station was adequately stocked with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-use paper towels.
- Sanitizer spray bottle available and the concentration of QUATS noted at 200ppm.
- Slushie customer self-serve area was found clean.
- Washroom maintained in good sanitary condition with supply of hot/cold running water, liquid soap and single-use paper towels.

Storage:
- All food items were stored at least 6" off the floor.
- All products were found either in original packaging or covered inside coolers.
- Storage area was well-organized.
- Chemicals and cleaners were stored separate from food preparation areas.

Pest Management:
- No visible signs of pest activity observed at the time of inspection.
- General sanitation of the facility was satisfactory.

Note - Ensure that all coolers are maintained at a temperature of at least 4C or less and freezers at -18C or less.
