Comments

The Licensee was found to be in full compliance with the legislative requirements. This is the second year in a row that the Licensee has achieved this status. The writer would like to thank the staff and management for their hard work in meeting all legislative requirements.

The following information was discussed with the facility Manager at the time of the inspection:
Supervision: the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice Active Play and Safe Play Spaces speaks directly to active supervision. All staff must practice active supervision, a combination of close proximity and attention, watching, and listening. Staff must be able to move through and see the entire play space. All staff must know how many children are in their care at all times.

Reportable Incidents: if a child is involved in a reportable incident the child care staff are required to report the incident to licensing within 24 hours. Please call your assigned Licensing Officer and if they are unavailable child care staff can call (604) 587-3936 and ask to speak with the Duty Licensing Officer. This number is staffed during regular business hours.

Lead in the water: licensing is encouraging all child care facilities help to reduce the amount of lead children may be exposed to. Child care staff are being asked to turn on the taps where children's drinking water comes from on a daily basis and to let the taps run for 2 to 5 minutes. The writer provided a handout on this topic to the facility Manager.

This report was reviewed with the facility Manager prior to signing. If there are any questions regarding this report or any other licensing matter please contact the writer.

The writer would like to thank the staff for their time and assistance with today's inspection.
