304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)] Observation: Severe cockroach activity noted throughout premises. All stages of dead and live cockroaches noted throughout the premise. Droppings and 1 egg case were found in cupboard and display cooler. Corrective Action(s): Contact a pest control provider that will provide an action plan to eliminate the cockroach infestation in the premise. Action plan should include structural and sanitation issues to correct for resolving pest activity. Treatment options must be provided and carried out along with a monitoring program to ensure effectiveness of treatment. Send action plan to district Environmental Health Officer. Date to be corrected: today Violation Score: 15 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)] Observation: Gaps along cupboards and walls noted in premises. These need to be sealed to eliminate harborage areas that support cockroach activity. Corrective Action(s): Eliminate conditions that support pest activity. Pest control provider should conduct this service. Seal gaps in walls and cupboards to eliminate conditions that support pest activity. Date to be corrected: today Violation Score: 15 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)] Observation: Dead and live cockroaches noted throughout the premise underneath fridges, in cupboards, and along floors. Cockroach droppings noted in front left display cooler along with 1 egg case. Photos taken. Cockroaches will crawl around food contact surface such as plastic cups, coffee pots during the night time. Corrective Action(s): Clean all areas contaminated by pests. Date to be corrected: today Violation Score: 15 307 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not of suitable design/material [s. 16; s. 19] Observation: Display coolers are still maintaining temperatures above 4C. Display coolers must hold cold potentially hazardous foods at 4C or below. Ice buildup in the condenser has been noted. This issue has not been corrected since last inspection.
