Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Previous Inspection - Not Applicable
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: CCFL observed that the fridge is in need of a cleaning.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the fridge is clean as required.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13071 - CCLR s.56(2) - A licensee must ensure that the policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees.
Observation: The manager stated that the facility has not developed a Screen time and Active Play policy.
CCFL observed the children playing outside on the playground.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that you develop and implement a Screen time and Active Play policy as required.
Date to be Corrected: February 14, 2019.
Comments

There were 20 children present with 3 ECE trained staff.
