Introduction

CCFL is on site at the facility today conduct a Routine inspection and review compliance with the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR), the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR ## RSUN-B2UV85 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: CCFL checked the fridge temperature in Toddler Room 2 and found the temperature was 6.3 degrees Celsius.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the fridge temperature is kept between 0-4 degrees Celesius for safe food storage.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: CCFL observed that the following are in need of a thorough cleaning:
-Floor near exit to Preschool playground
-Floor in Toddler Room 1
-Wall by door in Toddler Room 1
-Top of the shelves in Toddler Room 3
-Base boards in hallway

Also observed paint chipping on doors in Toddler Room 1 and Infant Room 1
Corrective Action(s): Please address these observations as required.

STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: CCFL reviewed the staff records and found that an individual was missing evidence of their immunization statue.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that records are complete as required.

STAFFING: 12152 - CCLR s.19(5)(b) - Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation: CCFL reviewed the staff records and found that an individual was missing evidence that their references had been checked. The manager stated that she contacted them but has no received an response as yet.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation: CCFL reviewed the children's records and found that one child was missing a photograph. The manager is aware of this.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that children's records are complete as required.
