Introduction

All areas of the community care facility (CCF) were inspected for compliance during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/ the:
• Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA)
• Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR)
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP)

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-B4XRWB have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: There was < 6' of clearance in front of the end of the slide.
Corrective Action(s): There must be a ≥ 6' safety/use zone around equipment to allow for proper use of equipment, w/ adequate space for entering & exiting. Use zones are surfaces around & under equipment where children shouldn't be allowed to hide, play, relax, etc.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation: A child lacked her enrolment date on file.
Corrective Action(s): All requirements of s. 57(2) must be obtained by children's 1st day of care.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: Today's attendance record wasn't completed yet despite 4 children observed in care.
Corrective Action(s): The licensee must sign children:
- in upon arrival
- out upon departure
Date to be Corrected: Immediately

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: A child no longer requires extra support, as verbally stated by the licensee. FHA was unable to view evidence of this.
Corrective Action(s): This information must be updated in consultation w/ the parent.
