- Warehouse for storage and distribution of dry goods and potentially hazardous foods with portioning and re-packaging of dry goods such as flour and spice mixtures.
- Handsink located in packaging area was accessible and supplied with warm water (automatic faucet), liquid soap and paper towel.
- Bleach sanitizer solution present in spray bottles (labelled to indicate contents) in packaging room for sanitizing food contact surfaces. Concentration measured 200ppm chlorine.
- Scoops and utensils used for portioning/re-packaging are washed and sanitized in 2 compartment sink.
- Hot and cold running water present at 2 compartment sink. Plugs/stoppers present for sink compartments to be filled. Sign posted with instructions for mixing bleach sanitizer solution.
- Walk-in cooler 1C
- Walk-in freezers (small) -20C (large) -29C
- Temperature controlled room for chocolate storage 12C. Temperature is for food quality. No potentially hazardous foods stored in it.
- Temperatures are checked daily and recorded. Records present and up to date.
- Warehouse is organized with food items stored off of the floor on pallets or shelving.
- Procedures in place when receiving stock - products are checked for for temperature controls and any damage.
- Pest Control contract in place with monthly service. No signs of pest infestation observed at time of the inspection.
- Premises is licensed with CFIA under the Safe Food for Canadians Act. Licence held by: Qualifirst Foods Ltd. (parent company of Far-Met).
