Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation: Observed metal barbecue skewers, tree branch trimmer, ladder, electric cords, pressure washer and propane tank in the outdoor play area which could present risk of injury while playing outdoor and accessing outdoor play space.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children do not have access to items which may be hazardous to their health or safety of the children,

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated June 20, 2023 there were 7 children and the licensee present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.

The following was discussed or education provided:
· Outdoor safety
· Logging the fire drill dates on the log form regularly
