Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
The back door was propped open, this will allow pests (rodents and flies) to enter the facility.
Corrective Action(s):
Keep the back door closed at all times, or install a screen door to exclude pests. During the inspection the owner closed the door, and informed me he will install a screen door.

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation:
The 2-comp sink faucet had broken/missing taps. Staff were using wrenches to turn the water on and off.
Corrective Action(s):
Repair or replace all missing/broken taps so staff are able to turn water on and off properly and easily.

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Cooler 4C; freezers -17C or colder; and thermometers present.
- Foods stored 6" off the floor on shelves or platforms.
- General sanitation is good.
- No signs of pests. Monthly pest monitoring done via Abel Pest Company.
- Hand sinks stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water.
- Bleach sanitizer in spray bottles had [Cl2] of 200ppm.
