Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).
Risk screening was conducted prior to the inspection.
All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14060 - CCLR s.39(1) - A licensee must ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult.
Observation: During inspection, Licensing observed the Licensees own child leaving the program area to go to the upper part of the home. When questioned, the Licensee stated that it was ok because the Licensee's Spouse was at home upstairs.
As this child is considered part of the group, supervision must be maintained at all times. There was no communication between the Licensee and Spouse to ensure the child was indeed supervised upstairs.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure continuous supervision at all times and provide a corrective action plan as to how this will occur when the other parent is at home.
Date to be Corrected: June 5th 2020
