Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated Dec. 04, 2023 there were 8 children and 1 staff present.The manager was also on-site and assisted with the inspection. At this inspection, no contraventions were identified. This report was reviewed with the facility manager during the inspection.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Storing of creams, cleaning products etc.
- All staff to initial after each documentation on the minor log bound book
- Remove all items with a DIN / NPN # in the first aid kit, as parent’s permission is required before using these items on children. Mild soap and water can be used to clean any minor cuts or scrapes.
- System for staff files and certificates
