Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation: During a review of 8 children's files, it was found that 3 children were missing photos.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all children's files are complete including a photo of the child.

Comments

At this inspection, there were 6 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee include a written response outlining how the contravention was addressed and is due by Oct. 23, 2019. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

During a review of the minor incident log book, it was found that there were no entries since opening. Discussed with the manager the recording of any minor incidents, including a child calling in sick or a minor scrape.

The following education/recommendations were provided:

· Lead in the Water

· Reportable incident forms
