Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Fridge temperature not maintained between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the temperature in the fridge is between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation: Upon inspection, the water in the bathroom was 56.9 degrees Celsius.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure any water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49 degrees Celsius.

Comments

At the inspection dated February 23, 2022 there were 3 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The manager will send licensing a written response addressing the contraventions and Licensing will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
