Introduction

An unscheduled/scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: During the routine inspection of the outside facility the following was observed;
- one horizontal panel, located above the log area had a hole in it and had sharp edges.
- two horizontal panels in the same area but lower had a few holes in them and had sharp edges.
- one vertical panel located near the brown toy box has a hole in it and has some sharp edges.
- in the corner of the building by the logs there were a few spider webs.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the building is in good repair.

Comments

At the inspection dated September 19, 2023 there were 15 children, 3 staff and the manager present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Lead in the Water – flushing the pipes to remove any impurities before using the drinking water
