Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #EGAU-BSLUEH have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed sleeping cots with children's bedsheets and blankets touching. The manager separated the cots during the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure rules of health and hygiene are practiced.

At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified and it was addressed during the inspection.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The following was discussed:

Mask guidelines as per the updated Public Health Guidance for Child Care Settings
Yearly review of care plans

The information contained in the report was discussed with the manager. and the report and risk assessment were written off-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
