Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation: Name of manager was not posted within the facility.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the name of the Facility manager is posted in a prominent place within the facility. This was found to be identified at the previous inspection.

LICENSING: 10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation: Certification of staff was not posted / displayed in a prominent place in the facility however was readily available for review.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure Certificates of Educators and /or Assistants are posted in a prominent place within the facility.

Comments

At the inspection dated Feb 11, 2021 there were 5 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Written response to be provided by the assigned date to include how these items have been addressed. Reviewed system for washing dishes , ensure Two sink Method is implemented as discussed.

Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCALA and CCLR). As part of the Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
In practicing Covid-19 precautions the inspection report was completed off site with arrangements made for delivery, therefore unsigned.
