Introduction

A routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Food in the emergency supplies kit was expired.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that procedures are in place to recover from any emergency and a system is in place to check the supplies annually.

Summary of Inspection:
On the inspection date of October 5th, 2021 there were 19 children, 2 staff present and 1 support worker. The manager was not available for the first half of the inspection and the staff were able to support the Licensing Officer's (LO's) inquiries during the inspection. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.
